Prince William viewed Andrew as ‘ignoramus’ – banishment role revealed | Royal | News

Prince William is known to have been the driving force behind the push for stronger action against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor over his long-standing relationship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to royal author Russell Myers, who wrote the book ‘, William’s hatred for his uncle goes even deeper because he already saw him as an “ignorant” before the Epstein scandal came to light.‘William and Catherine: The New Age of Monarchy’.
The author was featured in Newsweek Royal Report podcast: “Of course, Andrew has been vocal both publicly and privately that he should have no place in the monarchy. He has said he should be removed from the institution.”
Russell added: “He [Andrew] He should have no role in the family because it would be a stain on him. “And if they were going to keep him close, as the late Queen, and indeed Charles, did for a number of years during her reign, that would certainly be a big problem.”
The late Virginia Giuffre, who died tragically in April 2025, accused Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of sexually assaulting her in 2001, saying she was a victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking.
Giuffre filed a lawsuit in New York, which Mountbatten-Windsor settled in 2022, denying liability for an undisclosed amount.

In February, Thames Valley Police launched an investigation into abuses in a public office following reports that the former Duke of York had leaked confidential government documents to Epstein while he was UK trade envoy.
Andrew was arrested by Thames Valley Police on his 66th birthday last month and released under investigation.
A palace source quoted in the book told Myers: “Long before that [Mountbatten-Windsor] involved in scandal [William had] He had always thought his uncle was a bit ignorant. ‘What is he actually doing?’ question, but there was more to it than that.
“He had seen how Andrew behaved in front of the staff, how he gave orders to people, how he was aggressive or condescending, he had seen that they never saw eye to eye. William has a relationship with his cousins. [Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie] … so he’s not mad at them, but there’s no loss of love for Andrew or Sarah.”
