TN Special Police IV Battalion Commandant arrested on sexual harassment charges

T. Senthil Kumar, Commander of Tamil Nadu Special Police IV Battalion at Kovaipdur in Coimbatore, was arrested on Saturday, March 14, 2026, on charges of sexual harassment.
A senior police officer said a case was registered against Kumar at the All Women Police Station in Coimbatore South following a complaint by a woman cop a few days ago. He was arrested on Saturday, March 14, 2026 and sent to the courthouse.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had suspended Kumar under Rule 17(e) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1955 in February this year over complaints of sexual harassment against him.
In the order dated February 12, 2026, it was stated that, according to the circumstances of the case, the commander’s dismissal was necessary for the public interest.
The allegations against him were also referred to the Internal Complaints Committee.
Kumar was sent to Coimbatore Central Jail for judicial custody.
