Kerala Cabinet approves 50% amnesty on pending traffic fines

The Kerala Cabinet has decided to implement an amnesty scheme offering 50% discount on fines for pending traffic violations occurring up to December 31, 2024 in the state.
The decision was taken based on the Transport Commissioner’s recommendation to encourage vehicle owners to resolve long-pending e-challan cases.
Vehicle owners will be able to benefit from traffic fine discounts if they pay their fines by April 30.
It has been observed that many vehicle owners are reluctant to address e-ignorance because many vehicles have multiple ongoing violations and some offenses attract relatively high fines. As a result, the number of unresolved e-challan cases is increasing significantly.
