Man shot dead, another wounded near Sydney Olympic Park
A man was shot dead and another injured in an early morning attack on a unit in Western Sydney.
Emergency services were called to reports of a shooting at a unit complex on Shale Street in Lidcombe at around 4am on Monday morning.
The 38-year-old man, who was injured by a bullet, died in the hospital after being treated by paramedics.
A second person who was attacked at the scene was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting took place on a high-density residential street bordering the Accor Stadium.
While a crime scene has been declared, police are investigating the incident and asking for information from the public.
The latest shooting in Sydney comes after two men were taken to hospital following a shooting in Chester Hill on Thursday night.
