Parliament Budget Session LIVE: Lok Sabha to continue discussion on Demands for Grants for Union Railways Ministry

Union Minister Piyush Goyal will on Tuesday move to withdraw the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha as the Parliament continues the second phase of the Union Budget (2026-27).

The Bill, first introduced in 2025, will be withdrawn to amend certain laws to decriminalize and rationalize offenses to further enhance trust-based governance for ease of living and doing business, as notified by the Select Committee as per the revised backlog in the Lok Sabha.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh will move a motion in line with the Fifteenth Report of the Business Advisory Committee submitted on March 16.

According to the Revised Backlog, the agenda is dominated by important votes on the 2026-27 Grant Requests.

Discussion and Voting on Grant Demands for the financial year 2026-27 will also be held, focusing on three ministries, including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
