Lulu reveals she’s ‘just found out’ her late ex-husband Maurice Gibb secretly fathered a son and says it ‘might have happened while we were married’

Lulu alleges that her late ex-husband, Maurice Gibb, potentially fathered a child with another woman during their six-year marriage.

The Scottish star made a surprising claim while appearing in the latest episode. Louis Theroux PodcastMeanwhile, she discussed her marriage to the Bee Gees star and subsequent romances with pop legend David Bowie and hairstylist John Frieda.

Lulu, 77, whose marriage to Gibb officially ended in 1975 before they had children, told Theroux she had ‘just found out’ and had undeniable proof that the musician had secretly conceived a son after a brief fling.

‘I think he has a son,’ he said. ‘It might have happened while we were married. I just learned.

‘Someone showed me something and I don’t remember the year he got this girl pregnant after a one night stand and he has a son whose genes have been removed. It has been proven. It’s 100 percent Maurice’s.’

Gibb, who died in 2003 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Miami, has two known children with his daughter Samantha and son Adam, and his second wife Yvonne Spenceley.

However, Nick Endacott-Gibb, who was adopted as a baby in 2019, claimed that he was the biological son of British artist and band studio manager Patti Nolder, after a DNA test provided a “100 percent match” with Maurice’s son Adam.

But Nick said certain members of the family still question his claims.

“For some reason, some members of the family want to publicly cast doubt on the validity of my DNA result from two years ago, rather than listening to the music I created, which certainly speaks for itself,” he said at the time.

After searching all his life for his biological parents, Nick met Patti in 2003 and discovered that Patti had worked as a studio manager for the Bee Gees and had a close relationship with the band (the Gibb brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice).

Raised by a middle-class family in Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, Nick believed his father was Chris Andrews, frontman of 60s rock band Fleur de Lys, but a DNA test in 2009 came back negative.

But after Patti’s sister told her that Gibb was her biological father, she took three separate facial recognition tests, which showed the pair were likely related. One returned a match percentage of 95.2.

Gibb’s widow, Yvonne, refused the request for a DNA test despite years of pleading.

But after submitting a saliva test to an online genealogy firm, he was shocked to discover that Gibb’s son Adam had provided his own DNA to the website Ancestory.co.uk years ago, and this match gave Nick the answers he needed.

Speaking to Theroux about the possibility of Gibb having a son during their marriage, Lulu said she didn’t look into when he was born because “it wasn’t that important.”

‘I think I was taking myself too seriously,’ he added. ‘I know you’re surprised by this, but I think it’s true.

‘And it’s painful when you take yourself too seriously or see the world in black and white because there are a lot of gray areas and I’ve learned that through trials and tribulations.

‘You know, I’ve had some incredible ups and downs, but I’ve also had a lot of ups and downs; Just like most people’s lives. For God’s sake, I am no different from anyone else in this regard.

‘So I looked at it, I wanted to know why. I’m always curious and I think that probably helps me get through all the ups and downs in my life.’

Following her divorce, Lulu would begin a relationship with celebrity stylist John Frieda; But this romance would be tested by her short-lived relationship with David Bowie, who was at the height of his power as one of the defining artists of the 1970s.

“I had a brief relationship with him, we had a fling,” she said of her connection to Bowie, and admitted that Frieda “knew and it was a problem.”

They would reunite on stage in 2002, a year before Gibb’s death, after she invited her ex-husband to perform on the star-studded TV show An Audience With… Lulu.

‘I knew in my heart that he was probably going to jump, and he did,’ he recalled. ‘But Maurice was still a very sweet man. You know I didn’t want to use it, but I was using it. You know, I’m glad now because it touched people’s hearts.

‘They saw a weakness in me and in our relationship. This was also a chance for me to honor Maurice alone, without his siblings. And I’m so glad I can do this now.’

He added: ‘You know, sometimes when you end a relationship you don’t say everything you want to say, you don’t explain yourself, or there’s confusion or misunderstandings. It seemed like he was closing the circle.

‘He was very pleased because he always felt less than the three of them. And going on the show alone with me gave him respect, you know, he was respectful.’
