Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s health worsens

Speaking to the DPA news agency, a spokesperson confirmed that the health of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit has deteriorated again.
As a result, the 52-year-old is not expected to be present when the Belgian royal couple visit Norway next week.
Mette-Marit suffers from a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis, a serious, chronic lung disease that causes damage to lung tissue, leading to shortness of breath and other symptoms.
In December, the Norwegian royal court announced that the crown princess’s condition was deteriorating and that she would eventually need a lung transplant.
Crown Prince Haakon’s wife is under pressure after more details emerged about her connection to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Her eldest son from a previous relationship, Marius Borg Hoiby, is also currently on trial on multiple charges, including four counts of rape.
Mette-Marit has missed only three official visits since 2001, when she was crown princess, according to an investigation by Norwegian television.
