Newscast – Starmer Turns His Attention To Ukraine (Or Tries To)

Available for more than a year

Today President Zelensky was in London to agree a new defense partnership with the UK, with Downing Street hoping to combine “Ukrainian expertise with the UK’s industrial base” to produce drones. But while Starmer and Zelensky were meeting on one side of the Atlantic, President Trump was changing his mind about whether he needed NATO support again in the Strait of Hormuz. During a meeting with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin, President Trump attacked Starmer again. Adam and Chris discuss Zelensky’s visit and President Trump’s change of heart. Plus economics editor Faisal Islam joins Adam, who has just taken a look at quantum computers with Rachel Reeves, to discuss the Chancellor’s annual Mais Lecture, covering Artificial Intelligence, closer ties with Europe and possible plans to devolve tax revenue spending.
