Two men charged after young man killed in crash on Bruce Highway

Two men have been charged by homicide detectives after another man died when he was allegedly struck by a truck on the wrong side of the Bruce Highway.
Andre Roberts, 26, was heading home about 10.30pm on February 17 when his Honda Accord was struck by a white Isuzu truck allegedly traveling south in the northbound lane at Burpengary, north of Brisbane.
Due to the impact, the Honda burst into flames.

Mr Roberts died at the scene.
A 46-year-old Redcliffe man also suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
A 42-year-old Narangba man has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of dangerous operation in a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, Queensland Police said in an update on Wednesday following a major investigation.
“Police will allege the Isuzu was stolen from a business in Hemmant and was pursued by a Ford Ranger just before the crash,” the statement said.
The 42-year-old man is expected to appear in Caboolture Magistrates’ Court on April 13.
A 46-year-old Redcliffe man has also been charged with one count of manslaughter, as well as four counts of breaking and entering, three counts of theft, two counts of receiving defective goods and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was taken into custody and is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates’ Court on May 12.
