Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says OpenClaw is ‘definitely the next ChatGPT’

Nvidia On Tuesday, CEO Jensen Huang noted that a fast-rising AI project called OpenClaw is a major step forward in how humans interact with AI.

“It’s now the biggest, most popular, most successful open source project in human history,” Jensen told Jim Cramer in a “Mad Money” interview on the sidelines of Nvidia’s GTC event in California. “This is definitely the next ChatGPT,” the CEO said.

OpenClaw is an open-source, autonomous AI agent platform that goes beyond traditional chatbots. Rather than answering questions, these agents can complete tasks, make decisions, and perform actions with minimal input from users.

Nvidia moved quickly to capture OpenClaw’s momentum. AI chip leader announced Monday NemoPençeAn enterprise-grade version of OpenClaw that layers Nvidia’s software stack and tools on top of the platform. The goal is to make these powerful AI agents secure, scalable, and ready for real-world use.

Jensen described the technology as a fundamental shift that could greatly expand what individuals can do with artificial intelligence. “You can create your own agent for yourself with a single line of code. Then ask the agent to do whatever you want,” he said.

Nvidia CEO: We have the world's most energy-efficient architecture

The CEO explained the concept with a real-world example: designing a kitchen. With a short command, an OpenClaw agent can examine images, learn design tools, iterate ideas, and improve its own output; Moreover, it can perform all of these autonomously. “They’ll go and learn how to design a kitchen. They’ll come back with the design and think about it,” Jensen said, explaining how the system could improve his business.

The broader implication of this, he added, is increased individual expertise. “From now on, every carpenter will become an architect. Every plumber will become an architect. We will increase everyone’s skills,” he said.

Of course, the rapid rise of autonomous AI agents like OpenClaw has also raised concerns about security, privacy, and control, especially as these systems gain the ability to act independently.

This is where Nvidia sees its role. With NemoClaw, Nvidia is building guardrails that enable these agents to be deployed securely at scale, including privacy protections, surveillance tools, and enterprise-grade security.

Addressing these risks will be critical to unlocking the next wave of AI adoption; In this wave, agents not only help, but also act on behalf of people.
