Strike lands near Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant

“The IAEA was informed by Iran that a shell hit the Bushehr NPP facilities on Tuesday evening. No damage to the facility or injuries to personnel were reported,” the UN nuclear watchdog said in a statement on X. he said.

The attack took place in the third week of the US-Israeli war against Iran.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi reiterated his call for maximum restraint during conflict to prevent the risk of nuclear accidents.
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed the attack earlier in the day, and the country’s Tasnim news agency said the projectile hit the perimeter of the nuclear power plant in the port city of Bushehr around 19:00 (15:30 GMT).

Russia’s state nuclear energy company Rosatom condemned the strike on Tuesday, adding that radiation levels around the plant, whose construction began in the 1970s by a German company and later completed by Russia, were normal.
