UK weather: Spring to make comeback with warmest day of year forecast

Colder Arctic weather in the UK over the last few days means temperatures are struggling to reach double digits for many.
Combined with some showers and snow in higher elevations, it felt like winter was back.
But throughout this week, a warmer southerly wind will pull air from the Mediterranean and push temperatures six or seven degrees above average on Wednesday.
Temperatures will reach mid to high temperatures across England and Wales.
In Wales, we are very likely to see the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures exceeding 17.8C recorded in Porthmadog on 5 March.
And there’s a chance of temperatures close to 20°C somewhere in the Midlands, north-west England or north-west Wales.
This could potentially exceed the UK’s hottest temperature of the year so far, the 19.2C set in London in early March.
