Father-son duo held for stealing computer parts worth ₹80L

Govindapura police arrested a father-son duo in connection with the theft at a computer shop in Nagawara and recovered stolen electronic components worth around Rs 80 lakh from their tenants.

It was stated that those arrested were 21-year-old Hemant Manjunath, a laptop technician, and his father, 45-year-old Manjunath M., a former sailor. Both are residents of the Order of T. Channayya.

According to the police, the complainant, a resident of T. Channayya Layout in Nagawara, filed a complaint on March 14 stating that he had closed his shop on the night of March 13. When he returned around 11:00 the next morning, he found the door of the shop open, where computer components were missing.

Upon complaint, a theft case was filed. Acting on reliable information, police detained a suspect along with a two-wheeler allegedly used in the crime near a hotel on the main road in Chanakya Layout on March 15. During interrogation, the suspect confessed and revealed the involvement of his accomplice.

Both defendants were subsequently arrested and subjected to continuous interrogation; This led to the recovery of 444 DDR4 RAM modules and 279 SSD hard drives in their possession.

Police said that the suspect rented the house to the complainant and was aware of his business. It was claimed that the suspects, who suspected that the store was busy, committed the theft by using duplicate keys out of jealousy. The duo had planned to sell the stolen components to potential buyers.
