How did the promise of tattoos begin?

The idea started by chance. In a TikTok posted earlier this month, Conner Leavitt filmed Whitney washing dishes and asked if she would actually get a tattoo if Chicago broke its all-time ticket sales record.

“I don’t believe you. There’s no way you can do this,” Conner said.

“Yes, I would,” Whitney replied, before realizing she was on camera.
“Are you filming this for proof?” he joked.
Conner doubled down: “You heard it here first, folks. If she breaks the record, Whitney will get a tattoo. And I’ll pick her.”
“NO!” Whitney quickly responded, People reports.

That moment didn’t end there. In the comments, Conner jokingly shared a design that read “Roxie Fart,” but Whitney quickly denied it and responded, “I swear to God hahahahaha NO.”

What record did Chicago break?

Fun betting has become a reality after a major milestone. For the week ending March 15, Chicago recorded the highest weekly ticket sales in its 29-year history with revenue of $1,457,930.77.

The achievement surpassed the previous record set in December 2023. Even more striking, Whitney’s first six weeks on stage contributed a total of $8,049,526.31 in ticket sales.

Posting to social media on March 18, Whitney documented her tattoo process, showing that she had gotten ink behind her ear.

She wrote in the caption: “I’m holding myself accountable 🤭👀 I still can’t believe we broke the @chicagomusical record for highest grossing ticket sales! What makes this moment even more special is that Conner hand-drawn the design 🥹✨ ty @julsietattoos for tat and @ten11nomad for having us.” According to a report by People.

What’s next for Whitney on Broadway?

Whitney Leavitt plays the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago and said she wants to remember the role permanently.

Although his final performance was initially set for March 15, demand for tickets changed those plans. He is now scheduled to return on March 23 and continue performing until May 3.

The buzz around his run also attracted the attention of familiar faces. While Mikayla Matthews playfully asked if the tattoo showed her face, her former Dancing with the Stars partner Mark Ballas also pressed for evidence.

“Uuuhh I need a photo to know this is real. Text me one NOW 🤣🤣🤣,” he wrote, according to People.

Ballas is also expected to join the show soon, stepping into the role of Billy Flynn for a limited engagement starting April 6.

Meanwhile, Whitney kept one detail under wraps, she didn’t reveal the latest tattoo in her video, and fans were left guessing.

One thing’s for sure, though, what started as a viral moment has now become a permanent reminder of Broadway’s record-breaking episode.
