Iran Warns of Severe Retaliation Amid Rising Tensions

Teheran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for attacks on what it described as US-affiliated oil facilities in the region. The Revolutionary Guard said that the attacks were part of the 63rd wave of the ongoing “Operation True Word 4”, which was launched after the US-Israeli attacks on Iran.

“The 63rd wave, staged with all its might, also came in retaliation for the martyrdom of Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib and others during the attack,” the Corps Public Relations Office said in a statement. he said.

The report also stated that the enemies are also trying to take revenge on the nation for the ongoing rallies across the country in support of Iran’s Islamic institution and protesting the attack.

The Revolutionary Guard said the attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure took the conflict to a new stage. “The Islamic Republic did not intend to expand the war to oil facilities and did not want to harm the economies of friendly and neighboring countries. However, with its aggression against the enemy’s energy infrastructure, Iran entered a de facto new phase of the conflict, and the necessity of defending the country’s energy infrastructure necessitated a retaliatory attack against American-related energy facilities,” the statement said.

The Revolutionary Guard also claimed to have hit some 80 military and support targets in Israeli areas, including central Rishon LeZion, Ramla and Lod; Eilat in the south; and Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak east of Tel Aviv and Bat Yam and Holon south of Tel Aviv. It was stated that all targets were hit “surgically” using multi-warhead missiles and attack drones.

The Revolutionary Guard has issued a stern warning to US-Israeli forces against repeated attacks on Iran’s energy facilities. “If this happens again, attacks on your and your allies’ energy infrastructure will not stop until it is completely destroyed, and our response will be much more severe than tonight’s attacks,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that the US and Qatar were not aware of the attacks and stated that Israel would not target the South Pars Field if Iran did not attack Qatar again.

He said Washington would not hesitate to allow Tehran’s destruction if Qatar’s energy facilities were targeted again. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said: “The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and Qatar was not involved or aware of it in any way. Iran unjustly attacked part of Qatar’s LNG facility. Israel will have no further attacks targeting the South Pars Field unless Iran attacks Qatar again. In which case, the United States will respond with overwhelming force.”

The attack on Iran’s gas field and Qatar’s LNG facilities sent oil prices soaring but gave little sign of an immediate solution to the dispute.
