Outdoor Stadium in Kurnool to be developed with more infrastructure

Minister of Industry and Commerce TG Bharath said that they have developed the Open Air Stadium with the best infrastructure available in the city. Mr. Bharath on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a synthetic walking track and pickleball and volleyball courts with high-quality synthetic surfaces at the Open Air Stadium at a cost of ₹2.5 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bharath said that he used to play at the Open Air Stadium and now took up the development of the stadium. He said that this development work will be completed in three months.
Mr. Bharath said that they have developed three sports facilities of international standards at the Open Air Stadium to hone the skills of local athletes. He said that while the previous government neglected the development of sports and its infrastructure, the NDA government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was making its best efforts to develop sports in the state.
Mr. Bharath added that the stadium built by Greenko at TIDCO housing complex will be completed soon and another stadium is being built at Summer Storage Tank. He said that they have received the support of Vijayawada MP Keseni Shivnath, who is also the president of Andhra Cricket Association, for the construction of the stadium in Kurnool.
Kurnool MP Bastipati Nagaraju said he will give ₹ 15 lakh from MPLADS funds to develop grass at the stadium. He said that they are planning to build a Supreme Court Bench, a new Collectorate, a park and other development works in the same place on 10 acres of the 67 acres of land in C-Camp. He said that they have received approval from Mr. Chandrababu Naidu to take over the works and an IAS officer is likely to be appointed to oversee the works.
Kurnool Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairman Somisetty Venkateswarlu praised Mr. Bharath for developing the area.
