Teen charged after allegedly firing air gun at Rose Bay school
A 15-year-old boy has been charged and remains in police custody after allegedly shooting an air gun at another student at Rose Bay Secondary School.
Police rushed to the Dover Heights school around 1:45 p.m. Thursday following a report that a student was seen with a firearm.
Police were told the boy displayed what appeared to be a firearm before shooting at another student.
The pellet from the ball type firearm, known as a BB gun or air gun, hit the student. No injuries were reported.
The partially selective school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs was immediately quarantined and police were called.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station; Here he was charged with possessing an unlicensed, unauthorized handgun in a public place, stalking and intimidating with intent to create fear of physical harm, and discharging a firearm in or near a public place.
He was refused bail and spent the night in police custody. He will appear in juvenile court on Friday.
