BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao expressed confidence that the Modi government is taking decisive steps to face global challenges and assured the public that there is “no shortage” of indigenous LPG or fuel in the country even under the current circumstances.

Mr. Rao was speaking at the BJP State office after attending the Ugadi celebrations marking the advent of ‘Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara’.

A ‘Panchanga Shravanam’ (almanac reading) program was organized on the occasion.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, general secretary of the organization Chandrashekhar Tiwari along with several senior leaders and party workers attended the event.

He pointed out that gas prices in G20 countries increased between 20 percent and 50 percent. But fuel prices have remained stable in India, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “astute diplomatic” leadership. He said there was no shortage of domestic LPG anywhere in the country and the “minor” deficit of 30-40 per cent in commercial gas was expected to be resolved soon with the arrival of imported ships carrying the goods.

The BJP leader also stated that large LPG ships carrying 92,700 metric tonnes have reached India safely and the gas has entered the supply chain through various ports. He assured the public that there was nothing to worry about. He said the Center had procured around 5.33 million metric tonnes of crude oil in Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) to meet emergency needs, anticipating international tensions well in advance.

Extending festival greetings to the people of Telangana and the BJP cadres, Mr. Rao said he hoped the New Year would bring peace, prosperity and development to everyone.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy also conveyed Ugadi’s greetings and said the term ‘Parabhava’ “does not apply to us or our nation” but is used only for “enemies and anti-national forces”. Expressing hope for good rains and abundant agricultural produce, he said the country has the strength and resilience to overcome difficulties.
