Teen named after fatal stabbing as man charged with murder | UK | News

A 31-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a teenager in West London. He was due to appear in court on Thursday, March 19.

18-year-old Berkan Damir died due to the wound he received in his neck on Sunday, March 15. Ahmed Said, 31, of Lena Gardens, Hammersmith, has been charged with murder, police said.

Metropolitan Police rushed to the address in Lena Gardens, Hammersmith, where homes could sell for more than £2 million, just after 6pm on Sunday. In the evening, police found two people with stab wounds.

According to The Sun, Inspector Pali Grewal, who leads neighborhood policing in the area, previously said: “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones as we come to terms with the tragic events of Sunday evening.”

“We understand this will be sad news for local residents.”

“There is a crime scene in Lena Gardens and residents can expect increased police patrols in the area.”

Berkan died at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police said on Tuesday a post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the left side of the neck.

His family requested privacy.

The Met’s Special Crime Command is continuing its investigation into the incident.

Officers have urged anyone with information to report it anonymously by calling 101 or via Crimestoppers.
