Job calendar a big let down for unemployed youth in A.P., says DYFI

Leaders of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Friday said that the government’s recently released work schedule has dashed the hopes of unemployed youth.

Participating in a protest at Dharna Chowk, State Secretary of the federation G. Ramanna said, “TDP had promised to publish a job calendar every year, but two years later, an unemployed calendar was published. This amounts to a great betrayal of the unemployed youth.”

He said that the Minister of Internal Affairs had previously announced that there were 10,762 vacant police officer positions, but the job calendar currently showed only 1,970 positions. Similarly, there were more than 5,000 vacancies in Group 1 and 2 services but only 841 positions had been notified. The HRD Minister said that there are more than 4,000 vacant positions in universities but only 1,500 positions are included in the job schedule.

Criticizing the delay in DSC notifications, he said that earlier it was promised to be completed in March in June, but it was later postponed to October, and now only 2,565 posts have been included in the work schedule.

GO No. He said as per 13, 2,260 Special Education DSC positions will be filled through direct recruitment, but only 713 positions are currently shown in the job calendar. He said, “There are no PET staff” and demanded that the DSC staff be increased, taking into account the number of retired teachers.

He said that librarian positions have not been filled for the last 20 years, but only 100 positions are included in the work calendar, and Assistant and Veterinary Assistant positions are not mentioned in the Livestock Department. He added that only 503 positions were shown in the engineering sector, more than 3,000 positions were vacant and not a single position was listed for APGENCO, TRANSCO or DISCOMs.

Mr. Ramanna demanded that the job schedule be revised to include at least 1 lakh posts and also called for increasing the upper age limit to 47 years and 34 years for constable aspirants.

DYFI State president Y. Ramu, leaders Shiva, Lakshmi Narayana, Somashekar, Basava, Sai, Pranav and Librarian JAC leaders Jagadeesh and Seenu participated in the protest.
