Joseph Duggar waives extradition to face molestation charge as family speaks out

Reality star Joseph Duggar’s booking video was released after he waived his right to an extradition hearing in Arkansas, meaning he will be sent to Florida to face child molestation charges.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, the former “19 Kids and Counting” star was arrested and charged with molestation of a victim under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious acts by a person 18 years of age or older.

The booking video shows a deputy thoroughly searching and investigating Joseph. The officer takes off Joseph’s hat and checks him over before removing his handcuffs and pressing his hands against the wall. After completing the groping, Joseph is guided to a bench and sits down with his hands behind his back.

Later in the video, Joseph is seen taking off his shoes and socks and then putting them back on so the officer can check his feet.

Northwest Arkansas News Tontitown police reportedly went to the Duggar home on Friday to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Joseph’s wife, Kendra. According to the report, Kendra was not at home when they came to visit at 1 p.m.

The local publication reported that Kendra also faces four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

Duggar’s family speaks out after her arrest. Her cousin Amy Duggar King said in a statement to Fox News Digital that she was “deeply angry.”

“I am sickened, heartbroken, and furious in light of the recent allegations involving my cousin Joseph Duggar. My first thoughts are of the victim, a child who deserves to be safe, protected, and surrounded by people he can trust,” King began.

He continued, “The courage it took for him to step forward, especially after carrying something so heavy for so many years, cannot be underestimated. That courage deserves to be honored above all else.”

King explained that he was “completely shocked to hear about these allegations and Joseph’s arrest.”

“At the same time, I am not surprised to see another alleged predator emerge from this toxic system. I have spoken for years about the importance of truth, accountability, and protecting children, even if it means going against my own family. Family ties should never equal automatic trust or access, especially when it comes to children’s safety,” King explained.

“In light of the recent allegations regarding my cousin Joseph Duggar, I am sickened, heartbroken, and very angry.”

He said he was praying for the victim and his family. “Recognizing that we don’t know the full picture yet, I pray for Joseph’s wife, Kendra, as she begins to process this situation, and for the protection of her children. I pray for eyes to be opened, and above all, I pray for justice to be served to the fullest,” King concluded.

Josh Duggar, who is serving a 12-year prison sentence for possession of child pornography, said through his lawyer that the allegations against his brother are not true.

Josh’s attorney added: “Josh and Joe are not in frequent contact, but he is praying and hoping for his brother’s well-being during this difficult time.”

Josh is expected to remain in prison until 2032 after his appeal for a new trial in 2023 failed.

On Thursday, Jill Duggar Dillard’s family blog released a statement, They shared that they were “shocked to learn that Jill’s brother (Joseph Duggar) was arrested last night.”

“We first learned all about his accusations yesterday via a message from a friend who messaged us about recent media reports that Joseph had been arrested and admitted to abusing a young woman in 2020. We are shocked and heartbroken,” the post said. It was said.

The alleged victim, now 14, told investigators during a forensic interview that the allegations occurred in 2020 while she was on vacation with her family to Panama City Beach, Florida.

The former reality star allegedly asked the girl to sit on his lap during the holiday. He then asked her to sit next to him and covered them both with a blanket, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The press release said: “Duggar tampered with victim’s underwear and stripped his genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs.”

Authorities said Duggar later apologized for what he allegedly did to the girl and it stopped.

The sheriff’s office said the girl’s father confronted Duggar about the crimes on Tuesday, and Duggar admitted what he had done to him and police.

TLC canceled “19 Kids and Counting” in 2015. The allegations against Josh date back to 2006, after a family friend tipped authorities off for allegedly molesting his four sisters. However, the investigation ended due to the statute of limitations.
