Margot Robbie’s trippy tribute to Kylie Minogue in Chanel 25 handbag campaign
French luxury brand Chanel has doubled down on Aussies by casting Margot Robbie in its latest advertising campaign, which pays playful tribute to Kylie Minogue.
In an interview in 2023, Minogue made it clear you want him to be your friend neighbors graduate and Barbie He will portray Robbie in a movie. Robbie poured cold water on the idea during a BBC radio interview last year, but that didn’t stop Minogue from promoting her Chanel 25 bag.
Oscar-winning director Michel Gondry revisited the concept of his groundbreaking 2001 music video for Minogue’s hit Come to My World, For a Chanel ad featuring multiple Robbies carrying different versions of the bag.
While Robbie parades down a Paris street recreated in a Los Angeles studio, Minogue makes a cameo through an open window.

Since taking over from Karl Lagerfeld’s successor, Virginie Viard, Blazy has been credited with revitalizing the brand. Critics praised the ease she brought to Chanel designs and the introduction of relatable pieces, such as the jeans Robbie wears in the ad.
The ad will help boost sales of the already popular Chanel 25 flap-style bag, which has already been seen on the shoulder of singer Harry Styles.
