NJ home intruder caught allegedly attempting to sexually assault sleeping girl

A New Jersey man allegedly entered a home through a bathroom window and attempted to sexually assault a sleeping girl early Saturday, then was subdued by the resident inside.
Jermin Fordyce, 36, was charged with first-degree home invasion, burglary and attempted aggravated sexual assault, as well as second-degree aggravated assault, the Bergen County District Attorney’s Office said.

Hackensack police officers responded to a home around 3:40 a.m. for a home invasion burglary. Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found Fordyce subdued by residents of the home after finding him in one of the bedrooms.
Fordyce entered the home through the bathroom window and entered the sleeping girl’s bedroom, authorities said. Police described the victim only as “resident.” NJ.com It was stated that the victim was a girl.

Police said when he entered the room, Fordyce took off his pants and climbed on top of the sleeping girl and attempted to sexually assault her.
Authorities claimed the attacker strangled her during the attack.
One of the other residents was awakened by the sounds of a struggle coming from the girl’s room and tackled Fordyce to the ground.
