Tech glitches hit West Bengal supplementary rolls, EC passes buck to Calcutta HC

Kolkata: Confusion prevailed on Tuesday after the supplementary list was published at 11:55 pm on Monday and the Election Commission of India handed over the responsibility to the Kolkata High Court. Till late Tuesday evening, the ECI was unable to provide data on deletions and additions in the supplementary list adjudicated by 705 judicial officers under the HC. Special Rolls Observer Subrata Gupta told media persons: “This decision has been taken under the HC and they will be able to provide details. We can confirm that the supplementary list has been published and people can see it.” He added that another additional list will be published on Friday. “We can confirm that at least 30 lakh adjudication cases have been disposed of…” Gupta said.
