Former Tory MP Crispin Blunt pleads guilty to possession of drugs including cannabis and crystal meth

Former MP Crispin Blunt pleaded guilty to four drug possession charges, including cannabis and crystal meth.
The 65-year-old former justice secretary pleaded guilty to four drugs charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday following a raid at his home in Horley, Surrey, in October 2023.
The former Conservative MP was revealed to be in possession of the chemical drug GBL, a sedative, as well as cannabis, methamphetamine and methylamphetamine, commonly known as crystal meth.

Blunt, who served as Conservative MP for Reigate from 1997 until he lost the whip following his arrest in October 2023, pleaded guilty to one charge of possession of class A drugs and three charges of possession of class B drugs.
The drugs were found when the police searched his home as part of an investigation into rape allegations.
Following an 18-month investigation, Surrey Police announced in May last year that no further action would be taken regarding the rape allegation due to lack of evidence.
This is breaking news, more to come…
