Savannah Guthrie gives first interview saying it is ‘unbearable’ to think of what abducted mom Nancy went through and that she wakes up EVERY night ‘imagining her terror’

Savannah Guthrie broke down in tears as she gave her first interview since her mother Nancy’s abduction, saying she had been in “agony” for months.

The Today Show star sat down with co-star Hoda Kotb for the interview and got emotional, saying she’s haunted by thoughts of her mother’s “horror” every night.

The disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1 sparked a massive search; This search has so far led to no arrests or any trace of his grandmother.

Savannah said she and her family still hold out hope that the case can be solved: ‘Someone has to do the right thing.’

‘We are in pain. Unbearable. “And to think about what he’s going through,” he said.

‘Every night, I wake up in the middle of the night. And in the dark I imagine its horror. And this is unthinkable, but these thoughts demand to be thought. And I won’t hide my face. But he has to come home now.’

Savannah said she ‘keeps believing’ that her mother will be found, and even though there has been no sign of her for eight weeks, she ‘still believes’.

Host Carson Daly said it was ‘gut-wrenching’ to see Savannah suffer, while the star’s colleagues wept live on air after the interview as they shared an excerpt from the conversation, saying ‘even though we’re no closer to solving this problem, it’s been a long time coming.’

He returned to the Today Show studio earlier this month and said he wanted to return this week to show Kotb that ‘I’m still me.’

“I wanted you to know that I’m still standing and I still have hope,” he said. ‘And I don’t know what version of me it will be, but it will happen.’

Part of the interview was shared on Tuesday, and Today said the full interview will be published in two parts on Thursday and Friday.
