Another one for the graveyard: Google to kill Instant Apps in December

Applications were the measure of the value of a mobile platform, Apple and Google are dueling to list the highest items in their stores. Today, the numbers are not very important – there is enough applications and Google’s attempt to replace the web with applications is eliminated. A feature released in 2017 will be scrapped in December 2025. Instead, you will have to use the internet only.
Developer Leon Omelan found that Android Studio was buried in the latest Canary version (approved by it Android authority). The development client includes a warning that instant applications are directed to the Google cemetery. Here is the full notification of Google’s only official confirmation.

Instant applications were not a bad idea – too late. At the beginning of the mobile age, browsers and websites stagnated on phones and made applications a much better option. It may be bitter to install for every site that offers them. Google’s instant applications tried to correct the experience by offering an application live without installation. When developers apply the feature, clicking a link to websites can open the Android application within a similar time, such as installing a web page. Google then expanded the feature to the games.
