How does the Triangle Rewards WestJet partnership work?
Under the Triangle Rewards-WestJet partnership, affiliated members earn points on purchases at participating retailers including Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, Party City and Atmescent. While the base rate offers one WestJet point for every $2 spent, cardholders using the WestJet Mastercard issued by the Royal Bank of Canada can earn additional bonuses.
Benefits also extend to travel bookings. Customers who book flights through WestJet’s website or app will earn WestJet points as well as Canadian Tire Cash for flights, vacation packages, baggage fees and seat selection. Those who pay with the Triangle credit card can earn higher Canadian Tire Cash returns.
Members can also convert WestJet points into Canadian Tire Cash on retail purchases, providing flexibility between travel and daily spending.
Daily expenses turned into travel rewards
The Triangle Rewards WestJet initiative aims to bridge retail and travel rewards, the companies said. Connected members can derive benefits in both ecosystems, from purchasing tires and sports equipment to booking flights. As part of the launch, a variety of FRANK snacks popular with Canadian Tire customers will also be offered complimentary on select WestJet flights.
