L&T Tech to sell smart world portfolio to AM Group-backed AMI Paradigm Solutions

New Delhi: L&T Technology Services Ltd is set to sell its smart world and communications (SWC) business to AMI Paradigm Solutions Pvt Ltd, a newly formed entity backed by renewable energy company AM Group and digital public infrastructure developer ParadigmIT Services Technology Pvt Ltd.
AMI Paradigm (AMIPS) said in a statement that it has signed a binding agreement for the acquisition, which is expected to be completed by July 2026, subject to customary approvals. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The organization was founded by AM Intelligence Labs Pvt Ltd, backed by the founders of Greenko Group and ParadigmIT.
The deal comes as AM Group plans to invest around $25 billion to build a 1GW high-performance computing center in Uttar Pradesh, underscoring its push for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The SWC portfolio, which spans smart infrastructure and public systems in India and abroad, is expected to strengthen AMI Paradigm’s capabilities to deploy AI-led solutions for governments, cities, utilities and transportation networks.
The company said the acquisition is in line with its strategy to build a fully integrated AI platform, from carbon-free power and data centers to chips, software, applications and flexible consumption models from accelerator-as-a-service to tokens-as-a-service.
AM Group is developing an end-to-end value chain that converts clean electron on-demand into smart computing tokens through the AM Intelligence platform, the company said. AI-driven governance, public safety, defense, and intelligent infrastructure platform workloads are expected to consume 10-20% of inference demand in mature AI markets.
“The smart world and communications business will support the operationalization of AI for mission-critical systems across governments, cities, utilities, transportation networks and enterprises, enabling more autonomous, data-driven infrastructure and decision-making,” said Anil Chalamalasetty, President of AM Group.
AM Group is in the process of setting up the first phase of a planned 1 GW AI hub in Uttar Pradesh, comprising 250 MW capacity on land parcels allocated by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
L&T Technology Services CEO and managing director Amit Chadha said the divestiture is part of sharpening focus on software and digital manufacturing in the mobility, sustainability and technology segments.
According to AMI Paradigm, the global market size for AI in government services is currently estimated at roughly $25 billion and is predicted to reach nearly $100 billion by the early 2030s as governments deploy AI to automate services, improve security, and enable data-driven policymaking.
