Tom Brady jokes about what’s stopping him from becoming majority NFL team owner

Tom Brady may have only donned the helmet of two different teams in his NFL career, but he has become a man of many hats in his postgame journey.

Among other things, Brady is the Chief Medical Officer of eMed Population Health, a leading broadcaster on FOX and a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

While appearing on FOX Business “Mornings with Maria” To talk about his role at eMed on Thursday, host Maria Bartiromo asked the seven-time Super Bowl champion if he would consider becoming the majority owner of an NFL team.

“Great question. I have to work pretty hard. I paid ordinary income taxes in the NFL for a very long time,” he said. “And those valuations have become very expensive.”

Brady said he’s enjoying the roles he has now and joked about no longer being booed when he enters the stadium.

“But I love playing the role I have,” he continued. “I absolutely love my role at FOX and broadcasting… I could never have imagined the joy of being able to be on camera with my great partner, Kevin Burkhardt, and our entire team and tell all our fans how incredible the game of football is and how the sport brings communities together. I see that every week when I go to these amazing stadiums, and it’s just a really nice feeling to walk into the stadiums and not be booed by everyone anymore. There’s a lot more cheering than I thought, a little more than I thought, like, ‘Oh man, maybe they respected it.'”

“So having this role in broadcasting, being involved in football with the Raiders has definitely been a dream come true, and also making a difference in other people’s lives, trying to share some of the things I’ve learned from incredible mentors in my mind, trying to be inspired by the different people that have come into my life, passing on the messages that I can that have helped me achieve my dreams. And I want to do that for others.”
