Drunk driver crashes through Florida airport gate onto airfield, police say

A drunk Florida man is behind bars after he allegedly broke down an airport gate and made his way through the airport before attempting to enter an occupied plane, police said.
Authorities responded to Daytona Beach International Airport around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a blue Ford Mustang passing through a gate in the airport’s international terminal. accordingly Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said witnesses saw the driver of the Mustang nearly hit a plane that veered off the runway.

Bryan Parker is charged with hijacking, driving under the influence, two counts of indecent exposure, criminal mischief and theft of an unoccupied vehicle after he allegedly entered a gate at Florida’s Daytona Beach International Airport on March 25, 2026, and attempted to board three planes. The driver, later identified as 58-year-old Bryan Parker, allegedly exited his vehicle at the airport and approached an occupied, operating plane before trying to get inside.
When Parker realized the plane was locked, authorities said he ran to two empty planes and “briefly logged into them” before being approached by airport staff and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University security.

An airport operations technician then removed Parker from the plane and sat him on the tailgate of his truck, but he jumped out of the vehicle and began running toward another plane before being taken into custody once again.
Body camera video shows the moment Parker explained to deputies that he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs, causing him to have no memory of what led up to the incident.

Parker was heard telling the police, “I don’t remember, I was at my house.” “I went to an AA meeting and afterwards I was doing cocaine, drinking and smoking pot.”
“So you were doing a lot of drugs and escaped through a door?” the officer asks.
GOT A TIP?
“Yes, and I crashed my car,” Parker replies.
Parker is then seen sitting on the ground near an active taxiway, handcuffed, and telling officers to “take me away.”

Parker was later taken into custody and charged with hijacking, driving under the influence, two counts of indecent exposure, criminal mischief and burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, according to jail records.
