There are more than a million petroglif carved into the rocks in Murujuga on the Burup Peninsula near Karratha on the shore of Wa Pilbara.
Some petroglifs are more than 45,000 years of age, and it is believed that Murujuga contains the first known description of a human face.
The list makes the Great Barrier Reef, Kakadu and Uluru as well as the 21st World Heritage site of Australia.
