Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte left his widow an eye-watering seven-figure sum following his death at the age of 65.

The 65-year-old musician passed away on Christmas Eve last year after a short illness.

He left his fortune and personal belongings to his wife, Donna Bamonte, whom he married in 2009.

She was also executor of Perry’s will, as he left her a fortune of £1.4 million.

Perry had no children with Devon, who lived with him in Crediton, near Exeter.

The gross value of his estate was £1.9 million, but nearly half a million was deducted.

The probate document reads: ‘The last will and testament of Perry Archangelo Bamonte is proved and registered before the High Court of Justice.

‘The application stated that the gross value of the property in the UK was £1,983,419, with a net value of £1,444,123.’

Perry, who was born on September 3, 1960, wrote his will on May 22, 2024.

It reads: ‘I hereby give to Donna all personal property not specifically gifted by my will or any additions exempt from inheritance tax.

‘My trustees will hold the remaining property and the proceeds thereof strictly in trust for Donna.’

Perry, who also plays keyboard, performed more than 400 shows for The Cure over 14 years.

Following his musical career, he was an avid fly fisherman and also drew.

Perry and Donna rehabilitated and retrained racehorses and ran a ‘retirement home’ for them.

Police investigated his death after receiving a report from a family member who ‘panicked at something that was said to him’.

But Donna believed the inquest was ‘bullshit’ and claimed she ‘died from terminal bowel cancer and nothing more’.

He explained that he was diagnosed with the terminal disease in 2020 and a year later the all clear was clear.

But it returned in 2024 and Mr. Bamonte was given a terminal diagnosis before his death in December, he said.

“His doctors confirmed he was first diagnosed in 2020 and everything was fine in 2021, but there was a relapse in 2024,” he told The Sun.

‘I have had no contact with the police since his death. This is all complete and utter nonsense.’

The Cure’s official website confirmed the news that the musician passed away following a brief illness over Christmas.

They said in a statement: ‘It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of our great friend and bandmate Perry Bamonte, who passed away after a brief illness at home over Christmas.

‘Quiet, intense, intuitive, persistent and highly creative, ‘Teddy’ was a warm-hearted and vital part of the treatment story. “Caring for the band” from 1984 to 1989, becoming a full-time member of The Cure in 1990; He played guitar, six-string bass and keyboards on the albums Wish, Wild Mood Swings, Bloodflowers, Acoustic Hits and The Cure, and performed over 400 shows over 14 years.

‘He rejoined The Cure in 2022, playing a further 90 shows, some of which are among the best in the band’s history, culminating in a performance of the Lost World concert in London on 1 November 2024.’

Perry was one of five siblings and grew up in Basildon, Essex.
