A Woman, 12-Year-Old Girl Killed In NH-66 Accident Near Byndoor

Udupi : A woman and a 12-year-old girl lost their lives in the accident that occurred near Byndoor in Udupi district.

The accident took place around 5 pm on Saturday when an Ertiga car driven by Raghu was proceeding towards Byndoor from Kundapur on NH-66. Police said the driver was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed, rashly and negligently, veered onto the far left side of the road and hit the right rear of a container truck parked in front of a grease shop for a lubrication job.

Mamata (40) and Druti (12), who were in the vehicle due to the impact, died at the scene.

Along with the driver of the vehicle, other passengers – Kiran, Jahnavi, Kavya, Charvi – were injured.

A case was registered at Byndoor Police Station under Sections 281, 125(a), 125(b) and 106 of BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).
