A murder investigation has been launched after a man was shot dead in London. Police were called to the scene outside London Euston railway station on Saturday night (March 28).
A 26-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in a car on Charlton Street in Camden, the Metropolitan Police said. Despite the intervention of medical teams, the man died at the scene. Emergency services were called around 23:00 after gunshots were heard.
Police said CCTV showed a suspect riding a bicycle firing several shots at the man sitting in a white Nissan Juke. Relatives have been informed and are being supported by specialist police.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, whose team is leading the investigation, said: “We are aware of the concern this will cause in the local community and want to reassure them that we are working hard to identify the attacker and bring him to justice.
“If anyone has any information that could help us, it is extremely important they contact police to remain anonymous via 101, online or via the independent charity Crimestoppers. Our thoughts are with the young man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”
The Met Police are continuing to appeal for information about the attack. They are asking for any witnesses or anyone who knows relevant details to come forward.
Police added: “Anyone with information should call 101 quoting CAD 8032/28Mar or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.”
