Parliament Budget Session LIVE: Lok Sabha to discuss Insolvency, Bankruptcy Code Bill; Rajya Sabha to take up CAPF Bill

Meanwhile, in the Rajya Sabha, the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026 will be considered in more detail. Union Minister Amit Shah will submit the bill for approval.
While Minister of State (MoS) Home Minister Nityanand Rai introduced the bill in the Upper House on March 25, MPs from the INDIA bloc opposed it.
The bill provides that 50% of the posts in CAPFs will be filled by representatives of the rank of Inspector General, at least 67% will be filled by representatives of the rank of Additional Director General, and all posts of the rank of Special Director General and Director General will be filled by deputation only.
Opposition MPs stated that the bill contravenes the Supreme Court’s 2025 ruling; This resolution called for “the number of posts reserved for deputation in CAPF cadres up to Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) should be gradually reduced over a period of time, for example, within a limit of two years.”
