Tom Trbojevic remembers games where Manly took a big lead. Kieran Foran To start “spraying players if they’re not doing the right thing.”
“We can laugh at these moments now, but that’s the kind of person ‘Foz’ is; he is a complete competitive person, he participated in every match and every competition as a player and as a coach he will be no different,” Trbojevic said on Monday. he said.
Foran is now Manly coach after being parachuted into the job on Saturday, less than 24 hours after Anthony Seibold’s time at the Northern Beaches came to an unceremonious end after a winless start to the season.
“Foz is a legend of this club and we still have 21 games left to turn things around this season,” Trbojevic said.
“I hope he can get the best out of me. He was one of my favorite players to play with and to be managed by him now is very special.
“It will be a lot of fun to work with him. We hope that together we can get the best out of everyone.”
Trbojevic said he was sorry Friday afternoon with the news of Seibold’s dismissal.
“I’m disappointed that we’ve gotten to this point with Seibs gone and it’s hard not to take it personally,” he said.
“If we had played better we wouldn’t be in this situation. I definitely feel sorry for him. I spoke to him at the weekend; he was disappointed and I was disappointed for him. He helped me a lot and did a lot for this club.”
“The reality is that we didn’t play the football we wanted and that’s the result… The important thing now is to focus on what we can do. I’ve already had good conversations with Foz; he knows he’s going to need help from the people around him and that’s what I’ll try to do.”
‘He is such a competitor that he went after every match and every competition as a player.’
Tom Trbojevic talks about Manly’s new coach Kieran Foran
Seibold’s departure This follows the sacking of CEO Tony Mestrov and the departure of former fans’ favorite Daly Cherry-Evans, but the constant changes have not left Trbojevic questioning whether he should re-commit to his youth club after 2027.
“I signed a one-year extension last year because I wanted to focus on playing good football and nothing has changed in that,” he said.
“The truth is we didn’t play this [good] It’s football and we need to turn things around. What happened [the past six months] It doesn’t change my feelings about this club. I want to win. “Foz’s knowledge and passion for the club will now inspire us to do even more.”
Foran describes Trbojevic as “the smartest player I’ve ever played with” and “my No. 1 pick as the best player I’ve ever played with.”
“I have an extremely high opinion of Tommy and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to not only run this team alongside him, but to challenge him in different ways,” Foran said.
“I have a great relationship with all the Trbojevic boys; all three performed very well in our first three matches.
“I’m going to have a lot of confidence in Tommy and I’ve already talked to him about this. He’s going to be a great voice for me.”
“People see the great performances on the pitch but what they don’t see is his football IQ, which is like no other.
“You’ve got to make him feel good. Half the battle is making Tommy feel good. If he feels like he can break free of his shackles, you know you’re going to get a good performance.
“You’ve got to make sure he’s having fun and being happy with his football. If you do those two things right with Tommy, you’ll get a first-class performance every week. Even though he’s fit and healthy, he’ll be a full-back for the rest of his career.”
