Global crises crush Anthony Albanese, a business-as-usual leader

Somewhere in an alternate universe, Anthony Albanese is elected in 2022, the final stages of the pandemic are over, and the world has returned to relative normality. Albanese’s incremental, unambitious, business-as-usual leadership style, while never exactly inspiring, proved adequate for the time and may even have achieved his goal of occupying power long enough to introduce a few modest reforms and persuade the people to trust effective government again.

However, there has been no normal situation since November 2024.
