Asked if his rejection had helped silence the rumours, he told The Sun: ‘Of course not! ‘I probably won’t bother next time.’

He added: ‘You’re just wasting your energy. I feel like I’ve come to a point in my life where only what I know and what our truth is matters. You can expect these things when you’re in the public eye.

‘We’re happy, our relationship is solid and we’re having a great time, our kids are happy and that’s all that matters.’
