Iran army chief tells commanders to prepare for any attack, state media reports

DUBAI, April 2 (Reuters) – Iran’s military commander-in-chief Amir Hatami told state media on Thursday that Iran’s operational headquarters should monitor enemy movements “with utmost pessimism and accuracy” and be ready against any method of attack.

US President Donald Trump has said the Iran conflict is “nearing completion” and could end within weeks, but a parallel build-up of additional US troops in the Gulf has raised concerns that preparations could be made for potential ground operations.

“If the enemies attempt a ground operation, no enemy soldier should be left alive,” state media quoted Hatami as saying.

State media shared silent footage showing Hatami in a room with three other army commanders and on a video call with about a dozen other commanders. Reuters could not immediately confirm when the images were taken.
