Golf legend Tiger Woods told a police officer that he spoke to President Donald Trump on the phone after he crashed while driving drunk in Florida. Body camera video obtained by TMZ and broadcast Thursday shows.

In the police video, Woods can be heard saying, “Thank you very much. Okay. Got it. Goodbye,” as he walks toward the officer who called him back to the scene of the accident.

“I was just talking to the president,” Woods told police.

The golfer was later heard telling a man TMZ identified as his manager that he was “very sorry for what he did last night.”

Trump said in an interview with Fox News’ “The Five” program the previous evening that Woods would not play in the upcoming Masters tournament. Woods had left open the possibility of playing in the Masters days ago.

Woods said Trump had previously met with Donald Trump Jr. He is dating his former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, who is married to.

Woods, 50, was charged with driving under the influence following Friday’s crash, when his Land Rover crashed into the trailer of a truck in Jupiter, Florida. The golfer had two opioid pills in his pants and had “bloodshot and glassy eyes,” “extremely dilated pupils” and “sweating profusely,” according to the arrest affidavit.

Shortly after the accident, Trump called Woods “a very close friend.”

“I feel very bad. He’s going through some difficulties. There was an accident and that’s all I know,” Trump told reporters. “He’s a great person, a great guy, but there are some challenges.”

“I am taking time off to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary for me to prioritize my health and work towards lasting recovery,” Woods said Tuesday evening.

He pleaded not guilty in the case.
