Assembly Elections LIVE: Trinamool seeks removal of Bhabanipur RO, alleges proximity with BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari

Kerala | Free Uber rides, halwa; Steps taken by EC to make youth voting a celebration in Kerala
Free Uber rides, halwa and rice flour for ₹1 may seem like an advertisement to attract customers to a store, but they are actually initiatives by the EC to encourage young voters to vote in the Assembly polls in the state on April 9, turning the practice into a celebration rather than a boring activity.
Comprehensive measures to attract young voters to polling booths include possible discounts from coffee shops such as Starbucks and Cafe Coffee Day, positive messaging from food and grocery delivery services such as Blinkit, Swiggy, Zomato and Domino’s, as well as the use of AI videos, reels, contests and a ‘Gen Z anthem’ recently launched by Chief Electoral Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
“Everyone wants to do something, so we will see how they come up with their innovative ways. If they come and do something, that is good. A positive message will come out and it can have an impact,” Kerala Chief Electoral Officer Rathan U Kelkar said. PTI.
