David Beckham leaves King Charles in stitches with hilarious 5-word quip | Royal | News

The King asked the former England football star: “Does it smell?” he asked. Sir David replied: “It smells wonderful, wonderful.”

He then jokingly added: Telegram: “Not as good as yours.” This caused the King to chuckle.

The pair were joined by broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, Highgrove Gardens Head of Horticulture Melissa Simpson and garden designer Frances Tophill, who form part of the team behind RHS and The King’s Foundation Curious Garden.

The King’s Foundation garden aims to encourage the nation to discover the joys of horticultural curiosity and the vital contribution plants make to the health of people, places and the planet.

During their meeting, Sir David told the King about his special rose, which he named for his 14-year-old daughter Harper Beckham’s 50th birthday.

The king asked him, “What color is this?” he asked. The former football player said, “It is white. My daughter was actually given to me as a gift for my 50th birthday last year.”

“He organized this. He chose this, it’s very special.”

Meanwhile, the King’s Rose is an English shrub rose with pink and white stripes and was introduced in Chelsea last year.

This year’s garden features an oak building representing a ‘museum of curiosities’, seven raised plant beds in tribute to Sir David and the number 7 Manchester United and England jersey he wore, Delphiniums grown by the RHS in Wisley Garden, an Artist’s Easel created by The King’s Foundation’s Snowdon Furniture School to celebrate the King’s appointment as Patron of the Delphinium Society and their reputation in the Highgrove garden, and the garden’s finesse is taking. Flowers and good gardening for Alan Titchmarsh.

According to the information obtained, inspired by the King and Sir David’s common passion for beekeeping, it was decided that the garden would host a beehive this year.
