Chris Cuomo Calls Pam Bondi the First Public Official Fired for ‘Not Being Corrupt Enough’

Chris Cuomo gave Pam Bondi a new title this week, and it meant quite a demotion from the rank of Attorney General.
The Trump administration announced Bondi’s firing on Thursday, and reports circulated that Bondi had begged the president to keep his job at least through the summer. Trump wasn’t having it – and Bondi was out.
The NewsNation host and former CNN anchor noticed a pattern in the Trump administration’s revolving door.
Cuomo: “Do you think it’s a coincidence that Hegseth fired the Chief of Staff today?” he asked. “Do you know why he’s doing this? To satisfy the boss before he gets into his own head. We’ll see how long it takes.”
Cuomo suggested that cabinet members who do not directly carry out the president’s orders are already on the block.
“Mr. Secretary of War, look, you’ve never heard of this president taking responsibility for anything other than perceived victories. And that’s not going to change. He’s just dismissing the people around him.”
This is where Cuomo put a new label on Bondi: “The first public official I ever heard of who was impeached for not being corrupt enough.”
He added that “moving slowly” on the disclosure of the Epstein files, one of the things for which Bondi has received criticism from all sides, was not exactly her idea.
“Look, I know most of you said you voted to end law enforcement and return to ‘law and order,’ but you can’t look at the Department of Justice and think it did the exact opposite. Pam Bondi was fired for not providing enough legal services.”

Cuomo strongly urged Democrats to seize the moment when the Trump administration is weakened by an unpopular war in Iran and rising fuel prices as an opportunity to refocus the party on fixing domestic issues.
“Force the focus to come back to the home,” he said. “I know there’s a tendency to blame Trump for everything the regime is doing right now and what a huge waste this war is. I understand, but it’s a low percentage. It’s not that Americans don’t care about the Iranian people… but Americans care more about their own fate in their own country.”
He concluded his thought with what was once the Republican pitch: “Fix America first. That’s the battle cry Americans want to hear. Fight the real war. Fight what really threatens them.”
