The last siren sounds. The Western Bulldogs prevailed but have only managed seven goals since quarter-time. They fell behind by 10 in a row (as Essendon got their act together) but eventually added a few more on the board to end fanciful dreams of the Bombers coming from the clouds.

Don’t get me wrong, the Bulldogs were in full swing when the game was decided. They took the match from Essendon and ensured a 4-0 start to the season.
