Tributes paid to father killed after being hit by car as police arrest five on suspicion of murder

As police arrested a fifth man on suspicion of murder, the family held an emotional tribute to the father who died after being hit by a car near Barnsley.
South Yorkshire Police said 45-year-old Liam Green was hit by a white VW Tourareg on Rose Tree Avenue in Cudworth at around 5pm on Friday.
Emergency services attended but Mr Green died at the scene.

South Yorkshire Police said a 17-year-old boy, a 38-year-old woman and two men aged 33 and 60 were arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday. All five remained in police custody.
Mr Green’s family paid tribute and said: “We hope you are now at peace.
“We all love you so much, we give you a big hug from your mother, your sons, your brother and your family.”
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said investigations were ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact officers.
