Boxer and influencer Jake Paul mourned the death of TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk in a new interview, saying that had he lived, he would inevitably have been elected president one day.
Becoming President one day was for Kirk “like his job, his purpose, and all that,” Paul said. He told Theo VonHe suggests it would make more sense than a boxer aiming for the same position. “Charlie Kirk was clearly going to be the next president.”
Paul is an influencer with tens of millions of subscribers and is noted for parlaying his online fame into a boxing career, real-world business ventures, and possibly a future career in politics. Paul was also a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, and during a March 13 rally in Hebron, Kentucky, Trump offered Paul his “complete and total support” if he chose to pursue political office.
Paul spoke with Von about his concerns about getting involved in politics, noting that assassination is a legitimate concern in today’s environment. Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10.

Still, he has flirted with politics, saying, “I think it goes back to Marcus Aurelius, like helping the community, and it’s like that’s the number one thing you can do.” Aurelius has many sayings that it is the duty of the powerful to interfere in politics for the common good.
He went on to say that if he “foolishly runs away and resists, I’ll be gamed and run the risk of being assassinated, but I don’t want that.”

“I could see him running. I could see something like that,” the interviewer said. “People have to have something inside of them. I feel like they feel a sense of purpose and a calling to something. And if they can make sure that it’s not just about their own ego and that there’s a sense of, ‘I can do something better and I’m willing to put myself out there to do it,'” he said.
Paul noted that Trump not only signed him up for such a demanding job, but also one that was a burden on their family and all their loved ones.
“It was like that guy was Charlie,” Paul complained. “That’s so sad, bro. She’s so… so gorgeous.”
Paul noted that he didn’t spend time with Kirk personally but followed him all over social media, adding, “It seemed like he was aiming for it, though.”
