Iran’s Mojtaba Khamenei Unconscious, Receiving Treatment: Report

London: Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is receiving medical treatment in the Iranian city of Qom, The Times UK reported on Tuesday, citing an intelligence assessment.
According to The Times UK, the diplomatic note is understood to be based on US and Israeli intelligence shared with Gulf allies; this suggests that Khamenei was unconscious and being treated for a “serious” medical condition.
The Times said it had seen the note revealing the religious leader’s location for the first time. According to the Times report, “Mojtaba Khamenei is being treated in a serious condition in Qom and cannot be involved in any decision-making process of the regime.”
It was also stated that the US National Security Agency, which is responsible for processing global intelligence on behalf of the War Department, was contacted regarding the note, as well as Iran’s representative in Washington at the Pakistani embassy.
Mojtaba Khamenei has not been publicly identified since the conflict broke out in West Asia; Messages attributed to him were published in Iranian state media. Meanwhile, The Times reported that the elderly Khamenei’s body was being prepared to be buried in Qom.
The report came after US President Donald Trump gave Iran an ultimatum to make a deal before 20:00 on Tuesday, warning that from now on “there will be no bridges and power plants”.
