Donald Trump said Tuesday he has agreed to a two-week ceasefire in Iran.

“I accept the suspension of bombings and attacks against Iran for two weeks,” the US President said on social media. “This will be a bilateral ceasefire!”

Trump said his decision was “conditional on the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz.”

The announcement came about an hour before his self-imposed deadline of 8pm ET.
