Jillian Segal’s plan to combat antisemitism straight from lobby group wish-list

How the 15 -point plan of a right -wing lobby group has become an anti -Semitism policy. Tom Tanuki Reports.
Since the publication of anti-democratic and authoritarian suggestions Jillian Segal‘S’The Plan of Anti -AntiSemitism of the Private Ambassador ‘, Report– A lot was done in some political corners of her husband, donating 50,000 dollars to Australia, the hard right -wing lobby group Advance.
For people like me, it is seen that the emergence shows the definitive brand of right -wing Zionist lobby politics, which defends in Segal’s suggestions and considering Advance’s record of domestic affairs, which combines a lack of commitment to an anti -racist policy. But to the Minister of the Interior Tony BurkeWho approved the report with the Prime Minister Anthony ArbaneseOur answer was… Anti-feminist.
“It has been a long time since we were a country where you will blame a woman for her husband’s decisions.”
Imagine that women are given a role as the president of the household, which is appropriate for the accusation, is the reversal of the true power dynamics of pre -feminist bigotry.
Obviously, we are aware that Burke instantly invented this response to escape from a strict moment with the ABC journalist. Sarah Ferguson. Nevertheless, the strange, tired identity-policies of the politicians, experts and lobbyists are strange, tired identity-political power games, under the guise of protecting our rights and only one anti-racist-anti-anti-exchange.
Segal says he doesn’t know about donation. Yes, a donation of $ 50,000 can be forgotten for the “anti -racist defender”, which spent $ 17 million in two adjacents features To renew them. But I think that even a charitable reading of this donation shows that Segal speaks of the acceptability of the households and more importantly to the power of lobbying groups.
Segal’s relationship with lobbyists who have been in mind since the announcement of the report.
The Executive Council of the Australian Jews in February of this year (Ecaj) Co -chairman Alex Ryvchin He announced a 15 -point plan to combat anti -Semitism. In the press conferences and a SKY News Antisemitism SummitThe two -party political leadership included guest points. Former opposition leader Peter Dutton During the election campaign, he defended the plan in an aggressive way.
Including Ecaj’s suggestions declare “National Emergency Status” by prohibiting student camps and eliminating academic freedoms Migration law This is to deport the anti -ASSESS and more. Even though Ryvchin has been pointing to the intention of working with institutions to silence the working class to support Israel’s state interests, I was shocked by the 15 -point plan. I described it as a “fascist” in this column area.
However, the Plan discovered that many violent anti -Semitism, which attracted the attention of the people in 2024 and 2025, made up with an organized crime, hoping to use them to exchange them with state justice and intelligence. The fact that the government is engaged in finding hidden anti-Semitism in anti-ionist activism made it exploitable. Ecaj made a shot. The people were careful against the anti -Semitic terror speech. Dutton lost a landslide.
Our attention times are short and the media climate meets this. So I don’t blame people for forgetting the 15 -point plan. However, it is very important to understand Segal’s report.
I just saw the perfect one Abraham Edwards I have been commenting on this. He believes that 12 of Ecaj’s 15 points are partially or completely in Segal’s report. I argue that 15 is at least as a soul or partially.
Let’s go through the Ecaj plan and see where each point is reflected in the ambassador’s report.
ECAJ:
1. The Federal Government should declare the existence of a national emergency and establish a joint task force managed by a single minister to coordinate and mobilize all relevant institutions in the fight against anti -Semitic terrorism before a major terrorist attack in this country.
Envoy:
If the threats increase, emergency coordination measures, including a standing common duty force and potential national security statements, should be taken into consideration.
ECAJ:
2. Uniform policing guidelines should be created and intelligence and law enforcement officers should be trained to understand what anti -Semitism is and how it is expressed, so that they can define and prosecute crime. This training can be extended to legal and health professions and to others if necessary.
Envoy:
Make sure that the current legislation is appropriate and remains to resist hateful and intimidating behaviors to ensure that those who aim to and continue to stay and continue to stay effectively in this legal framework. Police, prosecutors, regulatory bodies and judiciary, with the comprehensive understanding of anti -Semitism, and make Australia compatible with other judicial regions with well -developed education initiatives.
ECAJ:
3. Antisemitism education should be included in the national curriculum.
Envoy:
With the support of the government, the ambassador will place the Holocaust and anti -Semitism education in coordination with the government, Catholic and independent school systems with the course plans in accordance with the national and public school curriculum.
ECAJ:
4. A awareness and advertising campaign of a people to refute the ideology of anti -Semitism and to weaken the charm of young audience, especially for young audience.
Envoy:
Considering the fact that young Australians have a higher probability that they have anti -Semitic views, governments should work with the special ambassador in consultation with the Jewish community to support reliable sounds to refute anti -Semitic views on social media platforms.
ECAJ:
5. There should be a national prohibition in camps; The deterioration of courses by student protesters; and external organizations or individuals organizing campus protest activities.
Envoy:
The ambassador will work with the Government to keep government financing from universities, programs or individuals in universities, programs or individuals in universities that facilitate, provide or move antisemitism.
[Note: I would argue that proposing complete withholding of government funding to universities is all the Envoy could do in terms of translating the ECAJ’s proposed withdrawal of freedom of expression on university campuses into a policy proposal.]
ECAJ:
6. The judicial investigation of anti -Semitism at Australian universities should include the investigation of foreign financing of student protests.
Envoy:
If systemic problems remain in universities at the beginning of the 2026 academic year, an investigation commission for campus anti -Semitism, including financing sources for organized anti -Semitism clusters, should be assigned.
ECAJ:
7. Universities should explain all the financing sources of foreign governments and foundations by connections to foreign governments or terrorist organizations listed.
Envoy:
Elçi will advocate the continuation of the investigation of overseas financing resources that are included in public institutions, including universities that can direct extreme ideologies.
ECAJ:
8. In order to overcome disciplinary restrictions against academics who support or worsen students, there must be a legislation.
Envoy:
The ambassador, who works with government and grant authorities, may determine that all public grants provided to university centers, academicians or researchers may be subject to termination or other discriminatory or hateful speech or actions.
[Note: Again, I argue that ‘withdrawal of funding’ is Segal’s ‘reasonable’ concession to ECAJ’s anti-democratic call to terminate academic freedoms at Australian universities.]
ECAJ:
9 Religious and other charity institutions, if they encourage racism, including anti -Semitism or exhibit terrorist symbols, help status and all funds must be canceled.
Envoy:
Remove the downloadable gift receiver from any charity institution that encourages speakers or encourages antisemitism.
ECAJ:
10. Further examination of resources and the use of funds managed by charity institutions in order to support terrorism or to carry out activities other than aid purposes.
Envoy:
Ensure that public financing to cultural institutions, artists, publishers and individuals is not used to support or indirectly support anti -Semitic themes or narratives.
ECAJ:
11. Immigration officials should be trained to recognize anti -Semitism and to evaluate whether applicants encourage anti -Semitism that will disqualify under character test. This applies especially to those looking for inputs from places with common antisemitic training.
Envoy:
The ambassador will provide anti -Semitism education to the personnel in the Ministry of Interior and everyone who participated in the processing of visa applications.
ECAJ:
12. The law of migration must be applied or if necessary, anti -Semitic behavior should be amended to reject a new visa or to cancel an existing visa.
Envoy:
The ambassador will defend the government:
• Visa applicants for anti -Semitic opinions or relationships consistently with a risk -based approach.
• Make sure that the Migration Law (and the associated decision -making and examination processes) effectively facilitate visa rejection or cancellation for anti -Semitic behavior and rhetoric.
ECAJ:
13. This legislation will target hostile dictatorships.
Envoy:
Increase the transparency of scale decisions and create regulatory parameters for algorithms.
ECAJ:
14. The government should come to festivals and individuals on condition that the recipient does not spread racism and the grants can be canceled.
Envoy:
Add terms to all public financing agreements with cultural institutions or festivals to ensure that the financing in which the institution or festival encourages, facilitates or effectively takes care of hate or anti -Semitism.
ECAJ:
15. There should be a balance of representation in literary and cultural festival boards and senior personnel responsible for programming options.
Envoy:
Encourage Australian cultural institutions to re -interact with Jewish creators and members of the Jewish community.
We were warned. Before the report is published, Guardian‘S Josh Butler partner Sources within the Labor Party and the Jewish community, “At least they waited for Segal’s suggestions to be affected by some suggestions. [ECAJ’s] 15 Point Plan “. This is not a surprise – we know that Ryvchin and Segal often have a strong relationship that appears together, and the Segal was a past Ecaj president.
However, this is not an Ecaj effect on Segal’s suggestions on “some”. Each authoritarian request of the hard Zionist lobbyrist group is explained in the policy proposals made by a private government appointment.
In other words: Without the direct input of Ecaj’s contributions, the report will contain very little. His only suggestions include sporting organizations, encouraging intercontinental dialogue and supporting Jewish cultural festivals. It makes an independent request to place the definition of IHRA in the Australian institutions on the board of directors, but at the same time it is not different because it has a working ECAJ demand. All meat of the report was taken from Ecaj’s work.
This is a surprising example of a private government appointment that seems to be completely caught by a group of lobbying. Does not contain any footnote, trusts disreputable ECAJ antisemitism provides reports for “data” and extensive democratic demands without our justification.
I’m not even sure how Segal can claim to be the report itself. He must put his name on Ryvchin and resign. No government can accept and remain reliable as it is.
